Linking Counterparties to Funding Windows

With Linking Counterparties to Funding Windows you can control which deal counterparties (buyers/sellers) are eligible for each funding window.

What the Feature Does

  • Lets you define, per counterparty, which funding windows they can use: specifying the applicable pricing and eligibility criteria.

  • Ensures each instrument is assigned to the correct funding window based on the counterparty linked to it.

  • Automatically re-evaluates instruments when deal or counterparty settings change (until they are Funded).

  • Keeps instrument tags accurate at all times without manual reprocessing.

This ensures that instruments uploaded for a given counterparty are always matched to the specific:

  • Funding windows

  • Pricing

  • Eligibility rules

This configuration directly drives the tags you see on instruments, such as Within Funding Window, Outside Funding Window, or No Eligible Funding Window, and determines whether an instrument reaches Ready for Funding.

Where This Lives in the Deal

You configure this inside a deal, across two connected steps:

  1. Funding Windows & Pricing

    1. Create and manage funding windows

    2. Define priorities

    3. Set annualised fees and additional charges

  2. Counterparties

    1. Add counterparties individually or via Bulk Assign

    2. Apply deal-specific settings (limits, FX templates, Funding WIndows)

Adding Funding Windows

Naming Funding Windows for Easier Counterparty Linking

When configuring a deal, the Funding Windows step comes before adding counterparties.
If you plan to link different Funding Windows to different counterparties, it’s important to name your windows clearly. This ensures you can easily identify and select the correct window later in the Counterparties step.

Tips for naming Funding Windows:

  • Include the intended counterparty name (eg., “Client – Standard Window”).

  • Add a descriptive label that defines the group or purpose (e.g., “Large Invoices”, “Preferential Rate”, “Express Window”).

Clear naming will help you quickly choose the correct window from the list when linking counterparties.

How the System Uses This Configuration for Instruments

Uploading or Submitting an Instrument

When an instrument is created, the system checks:

  • The counterparty (payer/seller) on the instrument

  • The product structure

  • Deal status

  • Counterparty eligibility

  • Available funding windows linked to that counterparty

If the counterparty is not linked to any eligible funding window, the instrument is tagged accordingly.

Funding Window Check

The system determines:

  • If financing is allowed for the product and deal

  • Whether a valid funding window exists for this counterparty

  • Which funding window to assign, based on configuration and priority

Outcomes include: Within Funding Window Outside Funding Window No Eligible Funding Window

Ready for Funding

On the Ready for Funding page:

  • Instruments are grouped into views according to their assigned funding windows.

  • Bulk funding respects the final funding window assigned to each instrument.

  • Before booking, the system rechecks utilisation, limits, and eligibility.
